Terms and Conditions
- 1.Whilst Yorkshire Bikeliner (herein
referred to as 'Bikeliner') has taken every care to ensure the accuracy
and has exercised due diligence in the preparation of their brochure,
price lists, itineraries, and other information relating to their
services they cannot unreasonably be held responsible for the
non-performance of their agents, sub-contractors or other third parties.
- 2. All bookings are subject to written or
telephoned confirmation by Bikeliner.
- 3. Full payment is due not less than twenty-one
days prior to the day of departure or immediately if less than that
period remains before departure.
- 4. Whilst every effort is made to safeguard the
personal property of the customer during transit and in loading and
unloading, neither Bikeliner, nor its agents or employees can accept
responsibility for loss or damage to luggage or property.
- 5. Passengers must be at the appointed pick-up
point at least 30 minutes before the set time for departure to enable
the loading of cycles, luggage and passengers as the coach
shall leave promptly.
- 6. Should passengers be aware that they will miss a
rendezvous they may inform Bikeliner by telephone who will make every
effort to help that passenger, however, if a coach has to leave without
a passenger due to the passenger's delay or fault no claims for refund
will be entertained.
- 7. Whilst every effort is made to comply with the
timetable laid down, neither Bikeliner, it's agents or employees can
accept liability for losses arising due to deadlines missed through no
fault of Bikeliner or through causes beyond our control.
- 8. Liability for any losses incurred and deemed to
be as a direct result of any act of willful neglect or avoidable default
by Bikeliner shall be limited to the total sum paid, by that passenger
incurring the loss, to Bikeliner for that journey only.
- 9. Carriage is included for one bicycle
per paying passenger. Tandem, trike and recumbent cycles
and trailers may be carried at the discretion of Bikeliner, and on
payment of supplemental charge provided they are booked in advance.
- 10. Children under the age of five years on the day
of departure may travel free provided each is accompanied by one full
fare paying passenger and no seat on the coach is required (seats may be
used if unoccupied but cannot be guaranteed). Children between five and
fourteen years of age inclusive on the day of departure attract a half
fare provided each is accompanied by one full fare paying passenger
(this only applies to our regular services and not our package offers).
All other passengers attract the full fare. Young persons (under 18
years of age) travelling without their parent or guardian must carry a
letter of authority to permit them to leave the United Kingdom.
- 11. Passports for British travellers are not
required for the Republic of Ireland but some form of identification is
strongly advised. Full ten-year passports are obligatory for all other
European countries. Other nationals should check with the relevant
embassy as to passport and visa requirements well in advance of
departure. Bikeliner cannot be held responsible for passengers
refused entry due to irregularities.
- 12. Your contract with us includes ferry travel
where applicable, however, Bikeliner cannot be held responsible for any
passenger being refused embarkation by the ferry company for whatever
reason and will not entertain any claim for refund or compensation
arising out of such refusal if such refusal be deemed beyond the control
of Bikeliner.
- 13. Bikeliner has a strict policy of no smoking on
our service and the consumption of alcohol on the coach is prohibited.
Any person in breach of these prohibitions may be asked to leave the
coach and will have no redress against Bikeliner. Any passenger deemed,
in the driver's opinion, to be unfit to travel for whatever reason may
be refused access to the coach and will have no redress against
Bikeliner.
- 14. Bikeliner reserves the right to change routes
and timings for the service at any time for operational reasons.
Bikeliner also reserves the right to cancel the service and limits its
liability to passengers to the full refund of moneys paid to Bikeliner
for that journey only.
- 15. Alterations to bookings may be subject to a fee
of £5 at the discretion of Bikeliner. Cancellations made more than
twenty-eight days before departure will forfeit the deposit, more than
twenty-one days but not more than twenty-eight days before departure
will pay 50% of the fare, less than twenty-one days the full fare will
be due.
- 16. to conform with E.U. regulations and protect
your interests any money paid to us with regard to any package tour
(e.g. our specials which include accommodation) will be lodged under the
control of a trustee and only be released to us on completion of that
tour.
